This article explains how to bulk import products into your dispensary using a CSV file. Importing products in bulk is ideal when setting up your dispensary for the first time or when adding many products at once.
All product information can be updated later, so do not worry if you need to make changes after importing.
Navigate to:
Admin > Settings > Data > Import New Data > Products

Download the Blank Product CSV file
You can download it directly from the import page or by clicking the Download link
Open the CSV file on your computer
Fill in your product information
Save the file
Upload the file to import your products
Only five fields are required to successfully import products. All other fields are optional.
An alphanumeric identifier used to uniquely identify the product.
The name of the product.
The status of the product. Only the following values are accepted (must be written exactly):
Publish
Published
Pending Review
Draft
The price you sell the product for to your customers.
The price you paid to purchase the product.
Note:
You may enter a placeholder value, but it is strongly recommended to enter an accurate cost for proper reporting and margins.
We highly recommend assigning at least one category to each product to make it easier for practitioners to find products without searching.
Below is a description of each available column in the product import file.
Alphanumeric string used to identify the product.
The name of the product.
Product status. Accepted values:
Publish
Published
Pending Review
Draft
The shipping weight of the product. This value is used to calculate shipping costs.
The brand associated with the product.
If the brand does not already exist, it will be created automatically.
A description of the product.
The category used to organize the product.
To assign multiple categories, separate them with |
Example: Abc Cat | Xyz Cat
The selling price for one unit of the product.
The cost to purchase one unit of the product.
If stock levels fall below this number, the product will appear in a low stock report, alerting you that it may be time to reorder.
Indicates whether tax is charged on the product.
Enter 1 if the product is taxable
Enter 0 if the product is not taxable
A direct URL to an image of the product.
The system will automatically download and attach the image to the product in your dispensary.
