Import Single Ingredients

Import Single Ingredients

Import New Single Ingredients

Dispensaries are not pre-loaded with single herbs because every dispensary uses a different set of herbs. To ensure flexibility, you must import the herbs you want to use by uploading a CSV file.

New dispensaries start with no herbs. This import process allows you to bulk upload new single herb data into your dispensary. You may also add herbs one at a time if preferred.

Where to Import Single Ingredients

Navigate to:

Admin > Settings > Data > Import New Data > Herbs

From here, you can upload a CSV file to import your herbs.

Import Herbs Help Video

An instructional video is available on the import screen to walk you through the process step by step.

Getting Started Quickly

If you are just starting out, you can save time by using one of our pre-built herb CSV files:

  • Western Herbs

  • Chinese Herbs

These files contain commonly used herbs and can be imported directly into your dispensary.

Important:
You cannot edit these files online. You must first download the file to your computer by clicking the download icon after opening the link.

You may:

  • Add ingredients that are missing

  • Delete ingredients you do not plan to use

  • Modify values before uploading

Mandatory Fields (Required)

The following fields must be completed in order for the import to succeed.

SKU#

If you do not know the SKU number, you may:

  • Create your own temporary SKU

  • Use your supplier’s SKU

Default Herb Name

This name must already exist in another herb name field and will be used as the default name throughout your dispensary.

Herb Names

You must include at least one herb name (e.g., English, Latin, Chinese).

Status

Only the following values are accepted (must be written exactly):

  • Publish

  • Published

  • Pending Review

  • Draft

Ingredient Type

The ingredient type must already exist in your dispensary and is managed under Ingredient Type Settings.

Only ingredient types that have been created in your dispensary can be used during import. The value entered in the file must match the ingredient type exactly, including spelling and pluralization, as shown in your Ingredient Type settings.

Common examples include:

  • Granules

  • Tinctures

  • Raw

  • Concentrates

For example, entering “Granule” will fail because it does not match the existing ingredient type “Granules”.

About the Remaining Fields

There are many available single Ingredient fields. You are not expected to fill in all of them.

  • Fill in what you know

  • Leave the rest blank

  • You can update ingredient details later
