Simple Products and Custom Products each have their own name type settings. This allows you to configure different naming conventions for simple products versus custom products.
Products may have multiple name types. The following name types are currently supported:
English Name
Latin Name
Pinyin Name
Chinese Name
Korean Name
Japanese Name
Sanskrit Name
You can select a default name type. When creating a new product, this name type will be selected automatically.
You may also enable or disable name types. Enabled name types are available when creating new products.
Enabling a name type does not require every product to use it.
Products may have multiple names within the same name type (for example, two English names or three Chinese names).
You may only add name types from the supported list above.
Click Add New and select the name types you want enabled by default for new products. While name types can be modified on a per-product basis, only name types enabled here will be available for selection on individual products.
Click the red Delete button to remove a name type from the default settings.
If the name type is currently in use on existing products, it will be hidden but not permanently deleted.
Re-enabling the name type will restore visibility of existing names associated with it.
