When creating a new product, you may not always have an image ready. This setting allows you to define a default product image that will be displayed until a product-specific image is uploaded.
The default image applies to all simple products that do not have their own image—not just newly created products. If you update the default image, the new image will automatically be used for any product without a custom image.
You can upload a default product image using one of the following methods:
Upload from your computer
Enter a public URL from Google Drive or Dropbox
Alt text is displayed when images are disabled in a browser and is essential for accessibility. It provides a descriptive text alternative for users who are visually impaired and supports inclusive web access.
Alt text is mandatory for all images and should clearly describe the image content.
Click Choose File and navigate to the image file on your computer.
Click Submit to upload the image.
Once uploaded, the image will appear in the preview area along with its width and height.
Enter a public URL from Google Drive or Dropbox.
Click Submit.
If successful, the image will load in the preview area.
The maximum allowed image size is 100 KB. This limit ensures fast page loading and an optimal user experience across the webstore.
