Pricing options allow you to define default values for Cost of Goods and Selling Price when creating new simple products.
These values are used only to pre-fill fields so they are not left blank during product creation. The system requires both a cost of goods and a selling price for every product. If you do not have this information available at the time of creation, the default values entered here will be used as temporary placeholders.
You may update or override these values before saving a product, and you are not required to use the defaults.
Pricing rules automatically calculate a product’s selling price based on defined logic. You can create multiple pricing rules and apply them to individual products as needed.

At this time, pricing rules cannot be applied to product variants.
Use Add New Pricing Rule to create a new pricing rule that can be applied to simple products.
