Overview
This section explains the About tab for an Ingredient Type. The About tab contains high-level, foundational settings that define how an ingredient type behaves and is displayed throughout your dispensary.
About Ingredient Type Settings
The About tab displays the following fields:
Ingredient Type
Indicates whether the ingredient type represents a single ingredient or a premix formula.
This setting is fixed and cannot be changed.
Form
Defines whether the ingredient type is:

Solid
-
Liquid
-
Both
This determines how the ingredient is handled in formulas and calculations.
Ingredient Name
The internal name assigned when the ingredient type was created.
This value cannot be edited.
Display Name
Controls how the ingredient type name appears throughout the dispensary interface.
This field can be edited and is useful for improving clarity or aligning with your preferred terminology.
Default Category
Specifies the category automatically assigned when a new ingredient of this type is created.
This field can be edited and helps ensure consistent categorization.
The About tab establishes the core identity and behavior of an Ingredient Type and should be reviewed before creating or modifying ingredients associated with it.
