Each Ingredient Type is configured through the following sections. Together, these settings define how ingredient types behave, display, price, and interact throughout the dispensary and formula builder.
Defines the core properties of the ingredient type, including whether it is a single ingredient or premix, its form (solid/liquid), display name, and default category.
Controls which ingredient name types are available (e.g., English, Latin, Pinyin) and which name is used as the default display name.
Specifies the measurement units allowed for the ingredient type and sets the default unit used for pricing, inventory, and formulas.
Defines default selling prices, cost of goods, and pricing rules used to automatically calculate ingredient pricing.
Controls inventory tracking behavior, decimal precision, low-stock warnings, barcode options, and out-of-stock rules.
Enables and configures default ratios for ingredient types that require ratio-based formulations.
Determines which informational fields (e.g., actions, indications, dosage, categories) are available and their display order for ingredients of this type.
Defines additional attribute data (e.g., organic, toxic, allergen flags) that can be shown alongside ingredient names in the formula builder.
Sets default images for ingredients created under this ingredient type, used until a custom image is uploaded.
Assigns preferred suppliers for the ingredient type and establishes supplier priority for purchasing and purchase orders.
This structure allows dispensary admins to fully standardize and control how each ingredient type behaves across inventory, formulas, pricing, and practitioner workflows.
