Inventory Settings
Overview
This section explains the Inventory Settings tab for an Ingredient Type. These settings define how inventory is tracked and managed for all ingredients created under this ingredient type.
Inventory Settings Options
Track Inventory

Toggle ON or OFF to determine whether inventory is tracked for this ingredient type
Inventory Decimal Places
-
Define how many decimal places are used when tracking inventory quantities

Useful for ingredients measured in small or fractional amounts
Barcode Labels
-
Select a barcode label size if you plan to print barcode labels for inventory or batch tracking
Default Low Stock Warning Level
-
Sets the default low-stock threshold for new ingredients created using this ingredient type

Triggers warnings when inventory falls below this level
Default Show Out of Stock to Users

Defines whether new ingredients will show an out-of-stock message to users by default
Default Users Can Purchase When Out of Stock

Controls whether users are allowed to order this ingredient when inventory is depleted

If disabled, users cannot add the ingredient to their cart when out of stock

If enabled, orders can still be placed and will be marked as backordered
Inventory Settings ensure consistent stock tracking behavior across all ingredients of the same type and help prevent ordering and fulfillment issues.
