This section explains the Name Settings (Name Type tab) for an Ingredient Type. These settings control which ingredient name types are available, which are hidden, and which name is used by default throughout the dispensary.
Each Ingredient Type supports multiple name types (for example, English name, Latin name, Chinese Name). You can control which name types are active or inactive for each Ingredient Type.
This allows you to tailor naming conventions to your workflow. For example:
Use only an English name for simplicity
Enable both English and Latin names for clinical or educational use
Ingredients often have multiple names, but displaying all of them everywhere would clutter the interface. Instead, the system displays one primary name in tables and lists.
Select the Default Name Type from the dropdown
This name will be shown in tables, lists, and other compact views for this Ingredient Type
Other name types may still be available in detailed views or where explicitly enabled.
To enable an additional name type:
Click Add New
Select a name type that is not currently active
The selected name type will be added to the list and become available for this Ingredient Type
To remove a name type:
Click the Delete button next to the name type in the table
Once deleted, that name type will no longer be available for ingredients associated with this Ingredient Type.
Name Settings help keep your dispensary interface clean and readable while still supporting multiple naming conventions where needed.
