The Ingredients tab allows you to define the ingredients associated with a product. How this section functions depends on whether the product is a Simple Product or a Custom Product.
For Simple Products, adding ingredients is optional and informational only.
Ingredients entered here do not affect product pricing.
You may select ingredients that already exist in your catalog. These will appear as linked items, allowing users to click through to the ingredient record for additional details.
You may also add ingredients that are not part of your catalog.
All ingredient information is displayed in the Practitioner Account on the product record page under Product Ingredients.
For Custom Products, ingredients are required.
Custom products are built entirely from items in your catalog.
Supported ingredient types currently include single herbs and premixed formulas.
You may combine different ingredient types within a single custom product (e.g., tinctures and granules together).
The listed ingredients form the foundational components of the custom product.
