Shipping Options & Setup

Set Up Shipping

Navigate to Admin → Settings → Shipping to configure shipping options for your dispensary.

Turn Shipping Off

If you do not ship orders through Dispensary Tree, you can disable shipping entirely.

  1. Go to Admin → Settings → Shipping → Settings.

  2. Toggle Shipping to OFF.

  3. Click Save.

Once disabled, all shipping functionality is removed from your dispensary.


Shipping Options

There are two methods for charging shipping rates:

  1. Create Your Own Shipping Rates

  2. Obtain Shipping Rates Directly from Shipping Companies


Create Your Own Shipping Rates

Navigate to Admin → Settings → Shipping → Rates → Create Your Own Configuration.

This option allows you to define custom shipping rates based on:

  • Zone (Country, State/Province, or City/Town)

  • Order value range (calculated before taxes, shipping, and markup)

Example:
Charge $5.99 if the shipping address is in California and the order total is between $50 and $250.

During checkout, the system checks the recipient’s address against your defined zones and displays any matching shipping options. You may create multiple rates per zone and even offer free shipping by setting the rate to $0.00.

How to Create a Custom Shipping Rate

  1. Click Setup Your Shipping Rates.

  2. Click Add New Rate.

  3. Enter a name for the shipping option.

  4. Select the applicable zone.

  5. Enter the Order Price Low (without a dollar sign).

  6. Enter the Order Price High (without a dollar sign).

  7. Enter the shipping price.

  8. Ensure the status is set to Active.


Shipping Rates from Shipping Companies

To obtain real-time shipping rates from major carriers worldwide, you must register for a free account at goshippo.com.

GoShippo is a third-party service that connects to shipping carriers and returns live rates based on your carrier contracts. Creating a GoShippo account is free; charges only apply if you purchase shipping labels.

Navigate to Admin → Settings → Shipping → Configure Shipping Companies → Shippo Integration.


Register with GoShippo

  1. Create an account at goshippo.com.

  2. After registering, contact GoShippo support (email or live chat) to ensure your account is activated.

  3. Obtain your Shippo API Token.

How to Find Your API Token

  1. Log in to goshippo.com.

  2. Click Settings in the left navigation.

  3. Select API.

  4. Click Generate Token.

  5. Copy and save the token.


Integrate GoShippo with Your Dispensary

  1. Enter your GoShippo username.

  2. Enter your GoShippo password.

  3. Paste your API Token.

  4. Click Save.


Activate Shipping Carriers

GoShippo supports connections to major shipping carriers worldwide.

  1. In goshippo.com, click Carriers in the left navigation.

  2. If your carrier appears, click Edit and enter the required credentials.

  3. If your carrier does not appear, click Add Carrier Account and select it from the list.

  4. Ensure the carrier is marked Active (checkmark in the Active column).

Carrier credentials can be obtained directly from your shipping provider. If needed, contact GoShippo or your carrier for assistance.


Manage Active Shipping Options

You can control which shipping services are available in your dispensary.

Navigate to Blocked / Markup Shipping within your dispensary settings.

  • Enable or disable individual shipping options per carrier.

  • Hide services you do not want to offer.


Marking Up Shipping

If you want to charge more than the carrier-generated rate, you can apply:

  • A fixed amount, or

  • A percentage markup

This allows you to cover handling costs or increase shipping margins.
