Navigate to Admin → Settings → Discounts to manage discount behavior.
This setting determines whether discounts are calculated on the total order price including practitioner markup, or on the base dispensary price only.
Discounts are applied to the entire order total, including markup.
Example:
Base price: $20
Practitioner markup: $20
Order total: $40
Discount: 10%
The discount is calculated on $40, resulting in a $4 discount.
In this case:
10% is applied to the base price
10% is applied to the markup
If a practitioner added a $20 markup, a 10% discount would reduce their markup to $18.
Discounts are applied only to the base dispensary price.
Using the same example:
Discount is calculated on $20, resulting in a $2 discount.
The practitioner markup remains unchanged.
When markup is excluded from the discount calculation, patients will not see a percentage-based discount. This avoids confusion, as a percentage applied to only part of the order total would not match the displayed order amount. In this case, patients will see only the total dollar value of the discount.
This setting allows you to enable or disable automatic discounts.
On: Automatic discounts are active and applied where applicable.
Off: Automatic discounts are completely removed from the dispensary.
