The Submit to Supervisor workflow ensures that all student-created formulas and products are reviewed and approved before they can be ordered. This approval step is mandatory and is designed to maintain safety, accuracy, and proper oversight.
A student must have at least one supervisor assigned to their profile.
If no supervisor is assigned, the system will display a warning and prevent the student from submitting formulas or products for approval.
Students can build formulas as usual; however, the formula cannot be added to the cart until it has been approved by a supervisor.
Complete the formula in the formula builder.
Navigate to the Formula Review page.
Click Submit to Supervisor.
The system confirms submission and notifies the assigned supervisor(s).
When a student clicks Add to Cart on a product, the product is automatically submitted to the supervisor for review.
The product will not be added to the cart until approval is granted.
Students can track all submissions using the Waiting for Approval section in the left navigation in the practitioner portal.
From this page, students can:
View all formulas and products pending review
Cancel a submission if a mistake was made before approval
Once a supervisor approves a formula or product, it appears in the Approved section.
The student can then click Add to Cart next to the approved item and proceed with the order as normal.
Students may include refill options when submitting a formula or product.
If a supervisor does not approve refills:
The supervisor should reject the submission.
The student must update the formula or product and resubmit it for approval.
This approval workflow ensures proper supervision, supports educational oversight, and protects patient safety by requiring expert review before any student-created item can be dispensed.
